Responsible decision-making

Consider choices, consequences, responsibility, and care.

Explore the concept

A decision is made within a situation, not in the abstract. Ask what the person wanted, what information and support were available, and who was affected. Accountability includes honesty and repair as well as consequence. Invite a next-step plan that is specific enough to use in an ordinary moment.

A practice to try

Map two choices in a story and the possible effects on the people involved.
